Achievements of the Department of “Computer Science”

For the second year in a row, students of our department have become winners of the national «Huawei ICT Competition».

In the National Final of the «Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025», Yessenov University student, 3rd year student of the «Computer Engineering» program Thanatar Ruslan took 1st place in the Cloud Track direction.

The national final was held on November 18 at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and the award ceremony took place today in Astana. The victory of Ruslan and the students of Yessenov University is a great pride for us! They defended the honor of Kazakhstan and received an invitation to participate in the regional competition, which will be held on December 19 in Riyadh. 37 teams from 19 countries of the Middle East and Central Asia will take part in the competition.

The Yessenov University Cloud Track team competed with students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Astana IT University. The team was led by Gulnaz Seitbekovna Zhilkishbaeva as an instructor at the ICT Academy.

In addition, Yessenov University won the title of Best PERFORMED ACADEMY, and Gulnaz Seitbekovna Zhilkishbaeva was awarded in the INSTRUCTOR OF the YEAR nomination.

Huawei provides students with the opportunity to explore new technologies and platforms and share experiences and knowledge in the field of ICT. Every year, the «Huawei ICT Competition» brings together talents from all over the world and takes them to a new level.

A 3rd-year student of the educational program 6B01503-Informatics Ualikhan Mustafa Kydyrbekuly took part in an essay competition organized among students of the Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh. Yessenov on the topic “Important elements of forming an anti-corruption culture”. For the high level of activity, Ualikhan Mustafa was awarded a 2nd degree diploma. This is a great achievement! Let us have many such attentive students…

The 1st year students of the educational program 6B06102-Computer engineering actively participated in esports competitions at the event “MANGYSTAU IT FEST-24”, organized by the Mangystau youth resource center and MangystauHub.

On November 28, a large-scale forum of young scientists and inventors was held in the Mangistau region, where the Association of Young Scientists and Inventors of the region was created. We are especially proud that our assistant of the Department of Computer Science, Orynbasar Maksym Aidarbekuly, became a member of this respected association!

For his significant contribution to the development of the IT sphere in science, he was awarded an honorary badge of the Association, which was presented by the head of the youth policy department of the Mangistau region, M. Oralbay.

Congratulations to Orynbasar Maksym Aidarbekuly on this high recognition! We wish him further success in promoting IT and innovative technologies in science, as well as new achievements on his professional path!

On November 16, in Astana, in the 1/4 quarter–finals of the ICPC Kazakhstan Regional Contest, students of the educational programs 6b01503 – Computer Science and 6b06103 – computer engineering and software of the Sh University. On November 18, the final stage of the National Competition «Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025», organized by Huawei, was held in Almaty at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

On the Day of Higher Education Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President of Yessenov University Akhmetov Berik Bakytzhanovich awarded a number of teachers and staff with honorary diplomas and badges. In particular, for the high performance and achievements of students in the field of higher and postgraduate education, a letter of thanks from Minister Sayasat Nurbek was awarded to Professor of the Department of Computer Science Suleimenova Buldyryk Bayyshevna, an honorary diploma – assistant professor of the Department of Computer Science Zhilkishbaeva Gulnaz Seitbekovna.

In August of this year, the summit of instructors of the Academy of ICT «Huawei Instructor Summit 2024» was held in Almaty. The main goal of the summit is the development of Huawei’s ICT Academy and the development of new directions in ICT academies. Gulnaz Seitbekovna Zhilkishbaeva, senior lecturer at the Computer Science Department, acted as a speaker. We wish you success in your future work.

Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh. Yessenov at the republican hackathon «RECODETAU», held by the «Republic» party in Turkestan on April 13-14, 2024 in order to digitalize business through innovative and technological solutions, and find positive solutions to problems. in the field of entrepreneurship and support for young IT specialists of the country, the BitStorm team of the «Computer Science» department won 4 prizes. They were given the opportunity to undertake a paid internship (with food and accommodation) at JanaPost in Almaty during the summer months. We wish our students great achievements and great success.

On April 8, at Yesenovsky University “SCIENCE IS THE BASIS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MANGISTAU REGION”, as part of the “Month of Science” program, a project competition of the University Startup Marathon 2024 “From idea to product creation” was held.

The competition was very interesting and fair. The students’ knowledge, full of ideas, amazes the audience and judges. The groups took turns receiving certificates and were awarded! Thus, we have come to the final part of our competition.

On 09/29/2023, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan published a list of students who applied for vacant educational grants.
Grants were provided to more than 4,000 applicants. Of these, 46 students of Yessenov University became holders of state grants.
The winners of grants in the specialties 6B06103 – “Computer engineering and software”, 6B06102 – “Computer engineering” were students: Adilkhan Nurbek Rysbaevich, Saurgali Anuar Asylbekovich, Kumar Nurbolat Talgatovich, Magzam Ramazan Aisayevich, Kaldibaev Muhammedali Akhmedovich.

On October 23, 4th year students of specialty 6B06103 – «Computer technology and software» held an event for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students. As part of the campaign, Huawei ICT Academy presented memorable gifts to students attached to the mobile application.

And I registered in the competition «Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 Kazakhstan National Competition» and got the opportunity to take part in the competition.

On November 5, 2023, the quarter finals of the 2023 ICPC World Programming Championship, held at Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov, ended. Of the three teams of Yessenov University, two teams took 1st and 3rd places (students: Ramazan K., Nurzhigit B., Amirbek H., Nietkabylova A., Erzhanova Z., Askarova A., Abdrakhi D., Tuzel U., Kalifa A. , head – Shuakbaeva R.S.). Winner of the Computer Engineering and Software competition #Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 Eurasia – Utebay Oralbay took 1st place with a much higher score than his competitors!

Expressing great confidence in our student, who has once again raised the honor of our university, we wish him great success and conquering the high cost of education!

The «AntyTox» team took part in the republican hackathon «AMANAT TECH», held in Astana on November 27-28, 2023. On November 24, 2023, 200 teams of responsible specialists took part in the republican hackathon «AMANAT TECH», only 20 teams passed the selection, and among these 20 teams, the “AntyTox” team of the «Computer Science» department of the «Science and Technology» faculty took second place.

During 3 days organized by JSC NC «Kazak Tourism» and Shazam Media with the support of Astana Hub and Yessenov University from 30.11.2023 to 03.12.2023. By order of the hackathon and esports, on the 3rd day of 02.12.2023, a team of 11 defended projects, a total of 77 participants. According to the decision of the jury, the winners of the prize money places were 3 strongest projects.

The 1st place (1 500 000 tenge) was won by the Yessenov University «Techies» team, the 2nd place (1 000 000 tenge) by the Yessenov University «Qubits» team, the 3rd place (500 000 tenge) by the Nazarbayev Intellectual School team and received cash prizes.

Yessenov University student Otebay Oralbay, who studied at the Faculty of Science and Technology in the educational program «Computer Engineering and Software» won the Grand Prix at the international competition «Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024» in Bahrain. Oralbay participated from Kazakhstan in the «Path of Reckoning». As part of the Kazakh team in the «Computer Track» direction, the teacher Gulnaz Seitbekovna included students from Yessenov University, KBTU, and AUES. The Huawei ICT talent competition was held at the Bahrain Polytechnic School; a total of 20 teams from 11 countries (Kazakhstan, Iraq, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Jordan, Lebanon, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar) took part in the competition. Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 Middle East&Central Asia EXCELLENT ICT ACADEMY at Yessenov University was recognized as the best.

As the winner of the competition, Utebai Oralbai will take part in a global competition in China, which will be attended by 20 000 students from 500 universities. We wish you continued success.

On December 15, the “Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 Kazakhstan” award ceremony, organized by Huawei, took place in Almaty.

Our classmate, 4th year student of the Faculty of Science and Technology of Yessenov University in the educational program “Computer Engineering and Software” Utebay Oralbay was awarded medals, certificates and valuable prizes.

Also awarded with the certificate “Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 Kazakhstan” was ICT instructor Huawei ICT Academy, head of IT startup Zhilkishbaeva Gulnaz Seitbekovna.

Utebay Oralbay, winner of the Huawei international competition, became the owner of an international certificate from the Huawei Academy of Information and Communication Technologies.

As part of the ERASMUS+ «UXiship» project, YU teachers visited the European cities of Germany and Riga to exchange experiences. Senior teacher of the Department of Computer Science Zhilkishbaeva Gulnaz Seitbekovna was awarded a certificate.

As part of the International Project YU Uxi Ship (Erasmus), senior lecturer of the Department of Computer Science Zhilkishbayeva Gulnaz Seyitbekovna takes part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev at the Azerbaijan Technological University in Ganja. As part of the Science Week “Science is the basis for sustainable development of the Mangistau region”, Yessenov University presented the models of startup projects, “Smart Bench”, “Plastic bench” and “QR ECPS” to the management of the university and the deputy akim of the Mangistau region. These projects were designed and implemented by a group of Yessenov University students. While developing Startup projects, team members developed social and business relationships. Team work, in contrast to tasks that require individual work, is more conducive to the growth of cohesion and subsequent productivity of a person as a unit of society.

At the Academic Council of the competition “Innovative Projects and Ideas” Yessenov University summed up the Results and congratulates the WINNERS who received approval for financing from Yessenov University’s own funds for the implementation of projects:

1. Project “QR ECPS” (1st and 3rd year students of the faculty of “Science and Technology” studying in the educational program 6B06102 – “Computer engineering” and 6B06103 – “Computer technology and software”, Asanuly Amanzhan, Olzhabay Azat, Mukhtarbekov Bekzhan, Isenamanov Rauan).
2. The “Smart Bench” project, which received a patent for utility model No. 7624 (3rd year students of the Faculty of Science and Technology Elmira Kanatova, Symbat Yklasova, Nurlybek Satybaldiev).

20.02.2024 Competition of startup projects «Demo Day», organized by the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Department of Computer Science. 17 teams took part in the competition, including student Dmitry Kapuler, studying in the educational program «Computer Engineering», currently studying at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences under the academic mobility program. Participants in the competition defended startup projects at a high level aimed at solving priority tasks to improve the level and quality of life of the country with the help of IT technologies. The 9 best teams will defend their projects at a university-level event in March.

We worked in a team together with students of the Kostanay Regional University named after A. Baitursynov.
